Join us on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Village Center for a fun-filled evening of music, entertainment, and activities to honor our country’s Armed Forces. This event is the kickoff to the Village's event calendar and is proudly supported by the Veteran’s Memorial Committee.

What to Expect

  • Enjoy a live concert by the West Suburban Concert Band on our stage, with seating available in front of the stage.
  • Witness the presentation of the Jack Schaus Patriot Award, followed by scholarship presentations to deserving students.
  • Show your support for our troops by writing letters to an armed forces individual at the tent sponsored by Krystle Johnson Downs, @ Properties.
  • Hop on the kiddie train and take a ride around the loop of the Village Green.
  • Meet Uncle Sam the stilt walker and the red, white, and blue jugglers as they roam around the event.
  • Treat yourself to some old-fashioned popcorn, red, white, and blue snow cones, and other snacks.
  • Get your face painted with flags, stars, and stripes by our talented face painters.
  • Grab a balloon in red, white, or blue and take it home as a souvenir.
  • Visit the booths of local nonprofits that support our community and our veterans, such as Honor Flight, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League, and more.
  • Purchase a brick from the Veteran’s Memorial Committee to honor a loved one who served or is serving in the Armed Forces.

Don’t Miss This Opportunity

This event is a great way to celebrate our nation’s heroes and show your appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It’s also a chance to have some fun with your family and friends and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Don’t miss this opportunity to join Burr Ridge as we come together to celebrate our country’s Armed Forces. We hope to see you there!

Note: There will also be a brief wreath laying ceremony on Armed Forces Day at the Veterans Memorial on Saturday, March 18, 2024, in the morning. Please join us to pay tribute to our fallen heroes and their families.
