The mission of the Code Compliance program is to ensure the safety and welfare of the Village and its citizens by enforcing the Village Codes and Ordinances. This includes addressing issues such as
property maintenance, permitting enforcement,
illegal signs, and others that may arise, and providing education to any person regarding the established regulations of the Village. Code Compliance staff holds a high level of respect and fairness to our residents, business owners, and visitors as we enforce the Village of Burr Ridge regulations professionally and objectively.
Staff initiates investigations only after a complaint has been received; the identity of any complainant is kept strictly confidential. Please allow five to seven business days for a field investigation to occur after submitting a request.
When addressing violations, due process is provided to all code violators. Code Compliance issues are written warning notices called “Notice of Violation(s),” which describe violations that have been identified through field investigation. If there is a failure to comply, citations are issued.
