Planning and Zoning is the implementation of the Village's Comprehensive Plan, review of development proposals, and administration of the Zoning, Subdivision, and Sign Ordinances.
Zoning regulations were created by and for the benefit of all Village residents. The Zoning Ordinance is approved by the Board of Trustees with the advice and recommendation of the Plan Commission, and only after review and consideration at public meetings. The contribution of Village residents as members of the Board of Trustees and the Plan Commission, and the participation of residents at public meetings is the primary reason why Burr Ridge is A Very Special Place.

- Applications for zoning petitions are available for download below. The Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals hears cases related to Zoning Ordinance matters and is a recommending body to the Board of Trustees.

Signage Regulations can be viewed online
here. For sign permits, please visit the
Building Permits section. Certain types of signs may require conditional approval or sign variations. Applications for those proposals are available for download below. Conditional sign approval and variation require review by the Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals and are recommended to the Board of Trustees.
